November 2020's ‘Bouncing Bubbles’ Science Investigation in Second and Third Class

In November, our young Bubbleologists investigated the properties of bubbles. We made a range of amazing bubbles in the classroom; big, small, touchable and bouncing. We investigated the various bubble solutions and conducted an inquiry into which solution gave us the ‘best bouncing bubble’.

After creating the best solution, each child used their pipette to gently blow a bubble to their desired size and gently drop the bubble on to their ‘magic glove’. The best bubble solution meant that our bubbles bounced on the glove and did not burst.

We tested things like, how long the bubble lasts before it bursts, who can get the most bounces out of their bubble, and how we must touch the bubble in order for it to keep bouncing! In our next Science Investigation, we will be looking at the properties of Giant Bubbles!

From all of your future Bubbleologists in the Middle Room.
